and &#8220;scholarship.&#8221; \u00a0Directing a university-wide Writing Program, for example, requires constant research and assessment of local contexts, as well as knowledge of national research and best practices. \u00a0In 1987, the\u00a0<em>Conference on College Composition and Communication<\/em> published a Position Statement on\u00a0&#8220;Scholarship in Composition.&#8221; Among the types of scholarly productivity recognized by this academic discipline are: curriculum\u00a0design, workshops and faculty development, and pedagogical\/practical applications. \u00a0(See: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncte.org\/cccc\/resources\/positions\/scholarshipincomp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Scholarship in Composition: Guidelines for Faculty, Deans, and Department Chairs.&#8221;<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>In addition to my usual university service (departmental, college, and university committee work), I have had the opportunity to pursue substantial administrative-scholarly projects.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3>Writing Program Administration<\/h3>\n<p>I \u00a0served as Director of Composition for most of the years between 2004 and 2016; I returned to this position in Fall 2018.\u00a0\u00a0Selected administrative-scholarly activities for that period are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall 2005: Transition to and implementation of the SAGES writing-intensive curriculum<\/li>\n<li>Spring 2005: Writing pedagogy website launched<\/li>\n<li>Fall 2006: Curriculum redesign\u00a0for ENGL 398: Professional Communication for Engineers<\/li>\n<li>Spring 2008: Writing Fellows seminar (semester-long seminar for faculty across the College of Arts &amp; Sciences)<\/li>\n<li>Fall 2008: Curriculum &amp; assessment\u00a0redesign\u00a0for ENGL 398: Professional Communication for Engineers<\/li>\n<li>Spring 2009: Implementation of annual Writing Program assessment via SAGES Writing Portfolios<\/li>\n<li>Spring 2015: Significant revision of Portfolio assessment practices<\/li>\n<li>Fall 2015: Implementation of SAGES Writing Rubric<\/li>\n<li>Spring 2016: Curriculum redesign\u00a0for ENGL 398: Professional Communication for Engineers<\/li>\n<li>Fall 2018: SAGES &amp;
