{"id":248,"date":"2019-05-03T09:52:39","date_gmt":"2019-05-03T13:52:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/kimberly-emmons\/?page_id=248"},"modified":"2021-05-22T14:27:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-22T18:27:44","slug":"htc3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/kimberly-emmons\/homepage\/htc3\/","title":{"rendered":"Humanities Teaching Careers at Community Colleges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In AY 2018-2019, I had the opportunity to work with the <a href=\"https:\/\/chc.case.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Humanities Collaborative<\/a> to develop a program aimed at preparing graduate students at CWRU for teaching careers at community colleges.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The<strong> Humanities Teaching Careers at Community Colleges<\/strong> (HTC3) program includes a Fall seminar (HUMN 422), which introduces participants to teaching, learning, and working in the community college environment.\u00a0 HUMN 422 appears on students\u2019 transcripts as a zero-credit seminar; it is graded Pass\/No Pass. The program also offers a competitive Mellon Fellowship in Humanities Teaching in the Spring.
